About this club

The DEIJ (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Justice) Listening & Learning Circle is a parent-led initiative dedicated to fostering a valued, fair, and equitable ICSA community. We embrace our school's diverse cultures as a unique opportunity for collective growth, helping parents recognize unconscious biases and nurture world-aware future leaders. How We Connect The Schedule: We meet every 3 weeks for 1.5 hours to discuss a pre-assigned article, book, or video in a safe, open space. The Circle Way: Our sessions are guided by a shared leadership model focused on three core practices: listening attentively, speaking intentionally, and caring for the group's well-being. Rotating Leadership: Guardianship rotates every session. The designated leader guides the check-in, opens the topic, ensures all voices are heard, and concludes with a reflective check-out. Group Agreements: We uphold a dynamic set of agreements designed to foster respect, collaboration, and open communication based on our shared experiences.
